Number 32
What is the Gospel?
The Gospel is the good news of the coming Kingdom of God here on earth and how we can be a part of it.
When Jesus returns, the kingdoms of this world will become the Kingdoms of God. Jesus will replace Satan as God of this world.
Revelation 11:15, ” And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”
We, the Elect, as kings and priests of the family of God will rule the world with Jesus Christ.
Jesus came preaching the Kingdom of God. He came to reveal the Father.
The Father sends His Son and the One sent is not greater than the One who sends Him.
Jesus stressed the fact that His Father sent Him.
You have to have faith and believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Jesus did many miracles to show that He is the Son of God.
Believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is the only way to a relationship with the Father. There is no other way.
Believe on Jesus Christ as the Son of God and accept Him as your Savior and you shall be saved.
Knowledge and understanding will be revealed to you as you study, fast, pray, and meditate.
Jesus did not make it complicated for new believers. You grow and mature into the first fruits of God.
Jesus has only one gospel: the gospel of the Kingdom of God which gives us eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
Mark 1:1, 14:
1“The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;”
14 “Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,”
Jesus did not have different gospels for different people. The gospel of Jesus Christ is for both Jews and Gentiles. We have four copies of the gospel written by four different people: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These four copies of the gospel all teach the same thing. There is not any other gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus as the first-born Son of God will replace Satan as God of this world when He returns.
The throne of David will be moved back to Jerusalem and the elect will rule the world with Jesus Christ.
The disciples’ thought Jesus was going to set up His kingdom on earth while He was with them.
Mark 15:43 “Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.”
Luke 19:11 “And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.”
Acts 1:6 “When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?”
The prophets prophesied of the coming of Jesus Christ.
The Lord sends Paul to the Gentiles and Peter to the Jews.
Galatians 2:7: (Paul speaking) “But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;”
Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles, but he also taught the Jews. He taught the same gospel to the Jews as he taught to the Gentiles.
Acts 9:15: “But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he (Paul) is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.”
Acts 13: 42-47
42 “And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.”
43 “Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.”
44 “And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.”
45 “But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.”
46 “Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.”
47 “For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.”
Paul wrote letters to the churches he set up to exhort the members and give them guidance in church affairs.
The gospel is called the gospel of Jesus Christ, the gospel of the Kingdom of God, the gospel of God, Paul’s gospel, and our gospel.
Mark 1:1: “The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.”
Mark 1:14, “Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,”
Romans 1:1: “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,”
Romans 2:16: (Paul) “In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”
II Thessalonians 2: 13-14
13 “But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:”
14 “Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
The gospel is an everlasting gospel.
Revelation 14:6: “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,”
Both Paul and Peter taught the Gospel of God.
Romans 1:1: “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,”
I Peter 4:17: “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
The gospel of the Kingdom of God is the only gospel Jesus taught and this gospel is for all mankind.
